Try facing the things you avoid
Steps
- Find a pen and paper.
- Write down anything you're avoiding, e.g. making a phone call, cleaning, etc.
- Reflect. How does it feel to avoid these things? What emotions do you experience?
- For each thing you're avoiding, write a realistic plan to deal with it and set a deadline.
- As soon as possible, confront all the things you're avoiding and tick them off the list.
- Reflect. What emotions did you feel when confronting the things you wanted to avoid? Compare this to the feelings you wrote about avoidance. Is avoidance a good strategy?
