Steps


  1. Find a pen and paper.
  2. Write down anything you're avoiding, e.g. making a phone call, cleaning, etc.
  3. Reflect. How does it feel to avoid these things? What emotions do you experience?
  4. For each thing you're avoiding, write a realistic plan to deal with it and set a deadline.
  5. As soon as possible, confront all the things you're avoiding and tick them off the list.
  6. Reflect. What emotions did you feel when confronting the things you wanted to avoid? Compare this to the feelings you wrote about avoidance. Is avoidance a good strategy?
